Christmas Tree Ministry Christmas trees are a very important for the Seminary of the Americas – not only because we decorate them each year, but also because we sell them. SENDAS has been growing cypress trees for Christmas sales for more than twenty years.
The trees are planted in April or May when the rainy season begins. Last year, more than four hundred cypress trees were sold, and although the crop of trees is smaller this year due to an insect called the fogoto, still more than 200 will be sold before Christmas Day. The prices range from $8 - $40 depending on the size and quality of the tree. Many families buy their Christmas trees each year from the Seminary farm and these funds are used for basic expenses for SENDAS. This year, as you enjoy the beauty of the Christmas tree, we ask you to say a prayer for SENDAS that God would continue to bless the Seminary professors, staff and students.
