The Nazarene Seminary of the Americas Graduates Thirty Students

The Graduation Ceremony for the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas was held on Thursday evening at 7:00 in the evening. The ceremony began with the presentation of the eight flags, representing the countries from which there are graduates this year. The eight countries include Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico and Spain.

There were eight graduates in the Diploma, Bachelor and Licensure programs and in addition, nine graduates in the Masters of Religion program. In addition, 13 students graduated in separate ceremonies in the districts of Panama and Nicaragua.  The total number of graduates for this year is thirty. (Please see the list of graduates below).


After a cordial greeting by Seminary President Dr. Ruben Fernandez, Dr. Lorena Bernal Garcia read from Ephesians 1:15-23, followed by the testimonies by two graduates, Mary Anais Rojas Vargas and Dr. Julio Cesar Lopez Cancino.  Both students gave thanks to their families for their support and to the professors and administration of SENDAS, for their patience and assistance in reaching their goals.

In the devotional, Dr. Ruben Fernandez encouraged the graduates to be persistent in the challenges that lie ahead and to continue on just as the apostles did in the Book of Acts. Dr. Fernandez reminded the graduates that ultimately “the church did not call you, your district did not call you, but it is the Lord who has called you…and He is faithful.”

The graduates received their diplomas from Dr. Ruben Fernandez and Dr. Jorge Banos. Additionally, the students received a Bible from the Bible Society as a graduation gift. 


The service concluded with a time of prayer led by Mario Vargas, District Superintendent of Costa Rica Central.
