Work and Witness Teams at SENDAS
During the months of February and March, two Work and Witness teams helped with the construction and remodeling of the kitchen in the Cenizaro building. A fourteen-member team from West Virginia worked on campus in February and a twelve-member team from Iowa and Tennessee continued the work in March.

The Cenizaro kitchen project began with the destruction of the current kitchen facility and two adjoining restrooms. The kitchen was in disrepair after nearly forty years of use.
The teams layed block for the new outside walls and cleaned 800 used bricks for the exterior of the building.

In addition to the kitchen, a handicapped restroom will be constructed with a separate outside entrance.

Students and staff as well as groups who rent the facilities throughout the year will use the new kitchen. In August of 2010, SENDAS will begin teaching English and computer courses as a service to the local community and the kitchen will be used to prepare food, snacks and beverages for these classes.

In addition to working on the SENDAS campus, the teams assisted the Costa Rica Central district with outreach and evangelism activities in communities throughout the city. The teams cleaned a park in Eulalia, worked in a school in Rosister Carballo and ministered to children in Pavas.

Children’s Bible School was held in each community and many children prayed to accept Christ as their Savior. The local church and cell group leaders will offer discipleship to the new believers to follow up this work. Additionally, the teams donated school supplies and personal care kits to the communities.
The Seminary thanks these teams for their dedication and support of Work and Witness and the mission of the SENDAS.
