Nazarene Bible Institute in Nicaragua Receives Work and Witness Team
March 20-28, 2010

A Work and Witness team from Bellville, Ohio recently visited the Rivas area with the purpose of helping with the ongoing needs at the Bible Institute in San Carlos.  The Bible Institute is located on the banks of Lake Nicaragua and the center is used both for theology training and for Nicaragua South District events.

The 14-member team worked on the large multipurpose building, repairing holes in the roof, painting the roof and constructing a new drop ceiling. The new drop ceiling is a blessing since it will keep tempatures more bearable inside on hot days.  The team provided both the manpower and expertise for the labor as well as the finances for the project.

The team, along with the local church, also worked in the area of Cardenas.  They painted a school, held Bible School for children, and hosted a service in a nearby park in the evening.  The local church planter spoke at the service sharing the message of salvation and twenty-two people accepted Christ.

The District Superintendent, Gerardo Reyes, is very thankful for the Work and Witness team from Ohio.  “Thanks to the team from Ohio, the Bible Insitute is in much better condition and on May 6-9, 2010 we held the Mission Congress for the Nicaragua South district and it was such a blessing.  We are also thankful for the evangelistic work the team did in Cardenas,  and now we have a new mission in that community under the direction of the First Church in Rivas and Pastor Nelson Rivera.”
